And like you, when I travel I don’t want to be worried about how much something cost. I’m very organized and I keep everything on a strict budget. For example, even when I take last minute vacations to one of the islands; I expect to spend anywhere from $3000 – $5000.
I normally book the flight which is one expense, then the hotel, then the rental car and so on. When we reach our travel destination there’s food, drinks and entertainment expense to be considered. Now you can see why the variance is from $3000 to $5000. The amount we spend on food, drinks, and entertainment is unpredictable. I would keep a virtual running tab in my mind- recording all of the meals and drinks until I reached my limit for that day. Crunching all those numbers made me feel like I was still working even though I was on one of those resort vacations.
